Mr. James H. "Jim" Phillips, 59, of Dublin died Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, with Reverend George Grimes and Reverend Reginald Blakewood officiating. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Treutlen County.
Mr. Phillips lived most of his life in Treutlen County before moving to Dublin twenty-five years ago and was preceded in death by his parents, Grayson and Vera Youmans Phillips. He was a diesel technical instructor at Oconee Fall Line Technical College, Dublin, and a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Slater Phillips; children, Andrea (Greg) Vaughn of McRae and Ashley (Ric) Ramirez of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Jeffrey Crowley, Jr., Nathan Ramirez, Isaac Ramirez, Grayse Vaughn, and Cameron Vaughn; sisters, Susan Phillips Paige of Soperton and Martha (David) Youngblood of Hiawassee; brother, Patrick (Shirlie J.) Phillips of Soperton; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and may be reached at the Phillips Homeplace, 4029 Holton Chapel Road, Soperton.
