James Kristian "Kris" Peacock, age 50, of Adrian passed away at his home on Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2024 after an extended illness.
Born in Glenwood, Georgia he was the eldest of two children born to James Henry Peacock and Renee Kea Peacock. Kris was a graduate of Wheeler County High School, Class of 1990. After high school, he obtained his EMT Certification and worked for a short time as an Emergency Medical Technician. Kris had worked with Wayne Bridges Logging during high school and had always enjoyed mechanic work and working on and around heavy equipment. For the past twenty two years, he has worked with Charles, Chris and Wesley Watkins at Watkins Construction of Adrian; maintaining, repairing and operating their doziers, backhoes, track hoes, dump trucks and other equipment used in their land clearing, tree planting and pond building business. He had worked with Tommy Webb and his carpet cleaning business for many years and was a First Responder with the Adrian and Norristown Volunteer Fire Departments.
Kris enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering. He had attended Poplar Spring Methodist Church and most recently attended the Norristown Revival Center.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, G. J. and Pauline Weaver Peacock, his maternal grandfather, Reverend Robert Kea and his maternal grandmother, Alma Mann Kea Cowing.
Kris leaves behind; his fiancé, Theresa O'Berry, Adrian, GA, his father, James H. Peacock (Mary Lou), Glenwood, GA, his mother, Renee Kea Braddy, Glenwood, GA, siblings, Dawn Smith (Heath), Soperton, GA, Jamie Peacock, Atlanta, GA, Jonathon, Braddy (Christina), Valdosta, GA, Tiffany Brooke Pace (Chris), Soperton, GA, uncle and aunt, Johnny and Ruth Peacock, Baxley, GA, aunt, Glenda Jo Bell, Glenwood, GA, a cousin, Herbert Hutcheson (Amanda Cupp), McBean, GA and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Stafford and Sister Patty Stafford officiating.
Kris will be laid to rest in the Ricks Cemetery, Adrian, GA.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Chris Watkins, Wesley Watkins, Jonathon Braddy, Arlie Foxworth, Gary Green, Shannon Brantley and Don (D. J.) O'Berry.
His family will receive friends on Saturday, at Sammons Funeral Home, from 2:00 o'clock p. m. until the hour of service or following the service, at Norristown Revival Center in Adrian.
If so desired, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Adrian or Norristown Volunteer Fire Departments.
