Mr. James W. Waters age 73 of Soperton passed away on Thursday morning, September 27, 2018 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 30, 3018 from the graveside in Westview Cemetery with Pastor W.R. Connell officiating.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, at the funeral home from 11:00 – 12:30 and at the graveside from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service.

Born in Macon, he had been a lifelong resident of Soperton. Mr. Waters had worked in the sign shop with the State of Georgia, Department of Transportation until retiring after 35 years of service. He later drove a bus transporting handicapped citizens of Treutlen County.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Sue Waters, who passed away in 2014 and a brother, Leroy McDaniel.

He is survived by his companion, LaVon Holland, Lyons, GA, children, Jimmy Waters (Kandy), Soperton, GA, Donald Waters, Bainbridge, GA, Pamela Ann Waters, Statesboro, GA, Johnny Humphrey, Collins, GA, James Humphrey, Alamo, GA, Teresa Bowen, Reidsville, GA, Blake Holland, Pellman, GA, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to his family.
