Mr. James Edward Willis, age 83, of Soperton died Thursday, April 27, 2017.

Mr. Willis was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and was preceded in death by his parents, Jake A. and Lois Webb Willis, daughter-in-law, Melody Willis, and sister, Majorie Peacock. He was the retired owner and operator of Willis Barber Shop.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Jackie Morris Willis; sons, Greg Willis of Soperton and Tracy (Suzanne) Willis of Gainesville; grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) McCoy, Rebecca Cox, Jacob Willis, Holly Willis, Caroline Willis, and Faith Willis; great-grandchildren, Chloey Cox, Riley Cox, Emma McCoy, and Jackson McCoy;  sisters, Ruby (Feltman) Walker of Soperton and Linda (James) Dykes of Vidalia; brothers, Freddie (Gail) Willis of Soperton and Bobby (Doris) Willis of Dublin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 30, with Reverend Milton Thomas and Pastor Gilbert Posey officiating.  Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Soperton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and may be reached at the family residence.
