Mrs. Janene Scott Stevens, age 49 of Soperton, passed away on Saturday afternoon, March 28, 2020 at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Georgia.
Born in Dublin, Georgia, she was the middle of three daughters born to Johnny Roy and June Beasley Scott. Janene grew up in Soperton and was a graduate of Treutlen High School, Class of 1988. She had worked in the childcare industry for a number of years before joining the Middle Georgia Community Action Agency Headstart Program for Treutlen County where she worked as the Center Supervisor. For the past few years Janine has worked as a private, in home, Sitter.
Janene had a big heart, cared about others above herself and loved her family. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband and son, "T.J.", trips to the beach, music and planning and coordinating events such as baby and wedding showers.
She was raised in the Pentecostal / Holiness church and most recently attended Hebron Holiness Church, Hwy 15, Soperton, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by an infant brother, Steven Roy Scott who passed away in 1971, her paternal grandparents, James Roy and Zelma Ree Beasley Scott and her maternal grandparents, Tommy Evans and Martha Missouri Smith Beasley.
Janene leaves behind her husband of thirteen years, Terry Stevens Sr., Soperton, GA, her parents, Johnny Roy and June "Sister June" Scott, Soperton, GA, children, Kenny Roy Scott, Soperton, GA, Robert Blake Fisher (Kristen), Providence, KY, Terry Shane "T.J." Stevens Jr., Soperton, GA, sisters, Bonnie Scott Holt (Derrell Lee), Dublin, GA, Amanda "Mandy" Scott LaPoint (Patrick Joseph), Soperton, GA, two grandchildren, Kenlee Fisher, Kaydence Fisher, seven nieces and nephews, Larry Justin Rigby, Gregory Steven Joseph Rigby, Hannah Holt, Lane Holt, Laurie June Mitchell, Augustus Jackson LaPoint, Aaron Joseph LaPoint, two great nephews, McKassey Darryl Harden III and Colton Bridges.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm on Monday, March 30, 2020 from the graveside in Beasley Cemetery with Pastor Paul Mulling and Brother Allen Green officiating.
Her family will receive friends, on Monday, at the graveside from 3:00 pm until the hour of the service.
