Obituary

Mrs. Janet Page Oxford, age 74 of the Red Bluff Community of Soperton and the Spann Community of Wrightsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 8, 2024 while being lovingly cared for by Community Hospice in Vidalia.

She was the youngest and last living of four children born to the late Milton Talmadge Davis and Loma Inell Calhoun.  She was a 1968 graduate of Treutlen High School; where she played basketball and had attended ABAC in Tifton. She had been a lifelong resident of the Red Bluff Community except for a short time spent in Meridian, MS with her first's husband's naval assignment.  She had worked for over forty five years as a Legal Secretary for various firms and individuals to include: Judge William Malcolm Towson; Green and Tribble, Attorneys at Law; Leon Green which became Green and Green Attorneys and concluding her career with Buddy Butler in June of 2023.

She was her "daddy's tomboy" that loved any activity or work centered around being out doors.  She enjoyed farm chores, gardening, baling hay, driving the tractors and fishing.  She was an accomplished pianist and cook.

She had been lifelong member of Red Bluff Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, of 34 years, Jimmy Larae Page, a son, Jamie Milton Page and her siblings, Larue Braddy, Betty Kight and Sidney Davis.

She leaves behind, her husband of twenty two years, Pat Oxford, Wrightsville, GA, children, Jason Page (Allison), Soperton, GA, Wesley Oxford (Cindy), Wrightsville, GA, Rusty Oxford (Glenda) Wrightsville, GA, grandchildren, Noah, Katie, Ashlynn, Delaney, four great grandchildren  and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Red Bluff Baptist Church with Pastor Cricket Green officiating.

Interment will follow in the Red Bluff Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Kyle Braddy, Bill Lampp, Ron Bivins, Clint Brantley, Tommy Garrett and David Walden.

Her family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 o'clock p. m. at Sammons Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Red Bluff Baptist Church, 1567 Mercer Creek Rd., Soperton, GA  30457
