Janice "Jan" Jackson Carpenter, age 71, of Soperton passed away on Sunday morning, May 12, 2024 at the Oaks Bethany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Vidalia.

Born in Soperton, she was one of four children and the last living child born to the late Paul Jackson and Annie Toler Jackson.

She was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and had worked at GFF as a Quality Control Inspector for over forty years until it's closing in 2013.

She enjoyed time spent at home, fishing and trips to the mountains of North Georgia and North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of thirty seven years who passed away in in 2022, Dwayne "Keith" Carpenter Sr., and siblings, Ray Jackson, Betty Gillis and Lois Graham.

She leaves behind: children, Lisa Baird, Lyons, GA, Dwayne Carpenter Jr. (Jackie), Soperton, GA, Lynn Carpenter, Soperton, GA, Charles Carpenter Sr. (Wendy), Taylor County, GA, Dawn Helton (Scott), Clarksville, GA, grandchildren, Charles William Carpenter Jr., Brittany McDaniel (Nathan), Lindsay Carpenter, Derek Gardner, Sierra Woodbeck (Arthur), Ashley Corona (Daniel), Taylor Bridges (Andrew), great grandchildren, Jayce McDaniel, Sheila Gracie Brown, Delilah McDaniel and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Private services will be held at a later date.
