Obituary

Mrs. Janie Grant Johnson, age 73, of Swainsboro died Monday, February 22, 2016.

Funeral services were held in Corinth United Methodist Church, Johnson County, at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 25, with Rev. Donna Avera, Rev. Hugh Baxter, and Mr. Barry Knapp officiating. Burial was in Carter's Chapel Cemetery, Laurens County, with Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Swainsboro and lived most of her life in Adrian. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Rea McGee Grant, husband, Clayton Johnson, and brother, Jimmy Grant. She was retired from Emanuel County Training Center and was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Michelle (David) Clark of Sparks, Kristi (Rodney) Hood of Swainsboro, Wendi (Jim) Hiller of Statesboro, and Clay (Kensy) Johnson of Scott; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and very special friends, Johnny and DeDee Webb of Adrian.

Pallbearers were Chase Cowart, Chad Cowart, Grant Page, Shane Hogan, Matthew Hogan, and Mickey Youmans.
