Mr. William Jarrell Lumley, age 82, beloved husband of Joyce Ivey Lumley of Adrian, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, October 27, 2021.
Born in Emanuel County, he was a son of the late Luther Joe Lumley and Ruby Gillis Lumley.
Mr. Lumley was a graduate of Adrian High School and had been the Owner and Operator of William J. Lumley & Company for over forty years.
He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and had attended Poplar Springs United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Joe and Jimmy Lumley and a grandson, Michael Gay.
Mr. Lumley leaves behind his wife of fifty eight years, Joyce Lumley, Adrian, GA, their two daughters, Valeri Morris (Ed), Adrian, GA, Sonja Gay (Jamie), Dexter, GA, grandchildren, Cameron Morris (Jessica), Sylvania, GA, Danielle Fordham, Rentz, GA, Colby Morris, Rome, GA, Haleigh Gay (Drew Watson), Evans, GA, Chandler Morris, Adrian, GA, Carson Morris, Adrian, GA, great grandchildren, Sydney, Samuel, Chloe, Keely, Abel, a special sister in law, Gwen Lumley and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from the graveside in Poplar Springs Cemetery with Reverend Mark Hardin and Cameron Morris officiating.
Mr. Lumley's family will receive friends for a short time following the service on Wednesday, at the graveside or friends and family may call at the home.
