Miss Jean Salter, age 80, of the Higgston Community passed away on Friday afternoon, December 7, 2018 at The Oaks – Bethany in Vidalia, Georgia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Johnson Chapel Church, Adrian, with Brother Neil Bridges and Brother Andrew Bellah officiating.

Miss Salter will be laid to rest in Midway Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday, at the church, from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service.

Born in Treutlen County, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Reba Nunn Salter. Jean graduated from Treutlen County High School, Class of 1956. She worked as a Secretary for C & S Electric of Vidalia and Treutlen County Public School System before moving to Texas. She retired from the Texas Public School System and before returning to Vidalia in 2003.

She was a member of Aimwell Calvary Holiness Church in Vidalia.

In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by two sisters, Evalee Salter and Verle McGowan and a brother, A. G. "Bossy" Salter.

She is survived by: Thurman Salter of Soperton, Mary West of Texas, Lonnie Salter (Shirley) of Vidalia and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be nephews of Jean; Raymond, Gerald, Andy, Alex, Ron and Dave Salter.
