Mrs. Jeanette Maddox Spivey, age 61 of East Dublin passed away on Sunday evening, July 22, 2018 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, GA with Pastors Ronnie Powell and Mike Grant officiating.

Mrs. Spivey will be laid to rest in the Wilkes Nazarene Church Cemetery, Rockledge, GA.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home or they may call at the residence.

Born in Montgomery County, she was one of thirteen children born to the late J.A. Maddox and Addie Eudell Farmer. She married Samuel W. Spivey Sr. in 1975 and had worked in the lunchroom at East Laurens County Elementary School for 27 years until retiring in 2014.

Mrs. Spivey had attended Bear Creek Baptist Church as a child and was presently a member of the Wilkes Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton and Ray and two sisters, Barbara and infant; Addie.

Survivors include: her husband of 44 years, Samuel W. "Sam" Spivey Sr., two daughters, Jeannie Donaldson (Henry Jr.), Wrightsville, GA, Jennifer Malcolm (Kelly), East Dublin, GA, a son, Sam Spivey Jr. (Jeanie), East Dublin, GA, siblings, Troy Maddox, Harold Maddox, Alvin Maddox, Moena Wilkes, Mary Jane Crabb, Ann Price, Melba Conner, Judy Maddox, six grandchildren, Ryan, Rhett, RylieFaith, Natalie, Tyler, Rustin and many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Henry Price, Chad Sapp, Danny Graham, Lil Troy Maddox, Mark Warnock and Terry Mathis.
