Mr. Jeffrey Alan "Al" Spivey, age 54, of East Dublin died Sunday, January 29, 2017.

Mr. Spivey was a lifelong resident of Laurens County and was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Gene Spivey, paternal grandparents, Alver and Pearl Spivey, and maternal grandparents, Clayton and Elizabeth Thigpen. He was a graduate of East Laurens High School and Brewton Parker College.  He was a former correctional officer with Johnson County State Prison and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his mother, Betty T. Spivey of Rockledge; sister, Beth Spivey of Rockledge; special friend, Lynette Morris of East Dublin; cousins, Marshall Thigpen and family of Statesboro, Clay Lisenby and family, Blake Lisenby, Nancy Jenkins and family, all of Macon, Patricia Price and family of Atlanta; and special friend, Dylan Starks of East Dublin.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, with Reverend Mike Mertz officiating.  Burial will be in Minter Baptist Church Cemetery, Laurens County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
