Mr. Jerry Price, age 70 of Mt. Vernon passed away on Monday evening, January 14, 2019 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Owen Waters officiating.

Mr. Price will be laid to rest beside his daughter in Connell Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, GA.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Born in Treutlen County, he was one of fifteen children born to the late Leo and Loree Love Price. Mr. Price grew up around the river near Rosemont and attended school in Treutlen County. He had worked in the furniture manufacturing business; retiring as a Supervisor, after 35 years with Bassett Furniture in Dublin. Mr. Price enjoyed fishing, four wheelers, old tractors, his grandchildren and always looked forward to his Sunday college football debates with his grandson.

He had attended Bear Creek Baptist Church with his wife.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Smith, who passed away on August 1, 2011.

Mr. Price leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Ann Maddox Price, Mt. Vernon, GA, a son, Henry Price and his wife Lisa, Mt. Vernon, GA, a brother, Tex Price, Soperton, GA, two sisters, Billie Faye Wise, Cartersville, GA, Joyce Nutter, Metter, GA, four grandchildren, Preston Brown (Dixie), Mariah Waters (Gabriel), William Price, Ethan Price and numerous nieces and nephews.
