Mr. Jesse Herrington, age 78, beloved husband of Betty Tanner Herrington of Soperton passed away on Tuesday afternoon, May 20, 2025 at his home.

Born in Odum, Georgia he was one of fifteen children born to the late Harry Herrington and Thelma Lightsey Herrington.  He grew up in Baxley where he attended the Appling County School System.  In 1977 he married Betty Tanner of Treutlen County and has lived in Soperton since that time.  Mr. Herrington had always worked in the construction industry; primarily paving and road building.  He had worked with Graham Brothers in Dublin and most recently with Gerald Scarborough Paving.  Mr. Herrington had retired in 2010.

He enjoyed fishing, riding four wheelers and tinkering out doors.

He was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Faye and siblings, Harry Jr. "Buddy", Annette, Inez Carter, twins, Carroll and Carollene as well as Eugene and Margaret.

Mr. Herrington leaves behind, his wife of forty eight years, Betty Tanner Herrington, children, Jesse Zebroskwich, Neal Allen Zebroskwich, Christina Westberry, other siblings, grandchildrern and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from the graveside in Red Buff Cemetery with, his brother in law, Clayton Tanner officiating.

His family will receive friends, on Saturday, at the graveside.
