Mr. Jody E. Wilkes, age 41 of Ailey passed away on Sunday evening, May 30, 2021.

Born in Vidalia, he is the son of Jan Hinton Wilkes and the late William Larry Wilkes.  He grew up in Ailey, and was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County.  Jody graduated from Montgomery County High School in Mt. Vernon, Class of 1998.  Following high school, he worked with the Department of Corrections with his father before beginning a long career in sales.  He had worked as a Salesman at Woody Folsom in Baxley, YES Home Center and Taner Homes in Baxley and Vidalia before joining Paul Thigpen Chevrolet, where he was still working.

Jody was a lover of music and for many years had worked as a Disc Jockey; being sought out to help coordinate the perfect wedding reception, birthday party, graduation celebration and many other special events throughout the entire state of Georgia.  For the past ten years he had been partner at NAC4 Productions.

He was a member of Cedar Crossing Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Justin Andrew Wilkes who passed away in 2012.

Jody leaves behind his mother, Jan Hinton Wilkes, Ailey, GA, his brother, Larry Aaron "Bo" Wilkes (Ann), Ailey, GA, two nephews, Luke and Logan Wilkes, two nieces, Emily Woods and Laci Wilkes, a great nephew, Drew Wilkes and many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from the graveside in Walker Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Georgia with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.

Jody will be laid to rest beside his father.

His family will receive friends at the graveside in Thursday.
