Mr. Joe Meacham, age 57 of Rentz, passed away on Friday morning, December 20, 2019 at his home.

Born in San Diego, CA, he was one of four children born to the late A. G. and Marion Elizabeth Hewins Meacham. Mr. Meacham grew up in Rockledge and was a graduate of East Laurens High School, Class of 1980. After high school he attended and graduated from Swainsboro Technical College with a degree in Business Management. While in high school and college he worked at the J. P. Stevens Company. Joe's work as a Truck Driver took him to Denton, NC and Lake Charles, LA before returning to Laurens County in 2016.

He enjoyed Old Westerns, gardening and cooking.

Joe was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, John Meacham.

Joe leaves behind, his daughter, Beth Fortner, his son, Brant Meacham (Holly), both of East Dublin, GA, two sisters, Jenny Martin (Kenny), Rentz, GA, Judy Surratt (Tim), Pace, FL, a sister in law, Judy Scoggins Meacham, Dublin, GA, five grandchildren, Hanna, Briggs and Tripp Fortner, Maylee and Easton Meacham and seven nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from the graveside in Red Bluff Cemetery. (In the event of inclement weather, the funeral service will be held in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home).

His family will receive friends on Sunday, following the service at the home of Kenny and Jenny Martin.
