Mr. John Charles Ware, age 66, of Dublin passed away on Tuesday, May 7 after valiantly battling an extended illness.
Mr. Ware was born in Treutlen County and was the son of the late Woodrow and Frankie Calhoun Ware. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Ware.
John was known for his quick wit and humorous personality. He was a retired diesel mechanic and semi truck driver and prided himself in sharing memoirs of his adventures on the road with his friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Sue; daughter Allison (Trey) Dekle, Metter, grandsons Carlton Smith Dekle II and John Sutton Dekle; Sisters, Judy Wommack, Morganton, NC, Janet (Frank) Littleton, Broxton; Brothers, Woodrow Jr (Marilyn) Ware, Aiken, South Carolina, Richard Ware, Soperton; Sister in law, Debbie Ware, Swainsboro; Aunt, Ann Calhoun, Soperton; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, in Soperton with Frank Littleton officiating.
Mr. Ware will be laid to rest in Westview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Donnie Boone, Smith Dekle, Sutton Dekle, Trey Dekle, John Sammons, and Gary Shurling.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home or friends and family may visit at the family residence.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, in his memory, are encouraged to be made to the Guido Evangelistic Association , designated for Candler Christian Learning Center, c/o CCLC, P. O. Box 1132, Metter, GA 30439.
