Obituary

Johnnie C. Brooks, age 71, beloved wife of Kenny Bryan of the Parkerville Community of Soperton passed away on Saturday evening, July 26, 2025.  Miss Johnnie spent her final weeks and drew her last breath at a place where she had devoted her life to caring for others, Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.

Born in Dublin, she was the youngest daughter and the fifth of six children born to the late Curtis Judson Rogers and Lucille Page Rogers.  A lifelong resident of Soperton, she was a graduate of Treutlen High School, Class of 1972.  After high school, she worked at the shirt factory in Soperton for approximately six months before begining a fifty year career at the Treutlen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.  Miss Johnnie began as the Activities Director before moving into the Finance department.  For the last thirty eight years of working, she served as the Facility Administrator until retiring in 2022.  During the time that she served her patients and their families, she was chosen twice as the Administrator of the Year and her facility was recognized on three occasions as the Facility of the Year by the Corporate Office.   She was personally recognized as the National Administrator of the Year by the Centers for Medicare Service.   She didn't work for praise or accolades, but for the patients that she was entrusted with their care and wellbeing.

Miss Johnnie enjoyed crocheting and any time she could spend with her grandchildren and her family.

She was a member of the Orianna Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Peggy Barrick, Buddy Rogers, Sylvia Norris and a grandson Judson Rogers.

Miss Johnnie leaves behind, her husband of eighteen years, Kenny Bryan, Soperton, GA, children, Jason Brooks (Jeana), Soperton, GA, Luke Brooks (Renee Hackle), Shellman's Bluff, GA,  Ben Bryan, Douglas, GA, Maggie Bryan, Douglas, GA,  two sisters, Joy "Skeeter" Garner, Sarah Cauley (Wayne), both of Soperton, GA, grandchildren, Jeffery Rogers, Jeremy Rogers, Jake Brooks, Yazzie Brooks, Courtney Brooks, Tyson Brooks, Payton Brooks, Lydia Brooks, Parker Brooks, great grand children, Jayden Rogers, Jaylei Rogers, Journey Rogers, Jolene Rogers, Jhett Rogers, River Rogers, Jagger Braswell, Eli Mulling, Blayklen Brooks, Jonah Mercer, Kendall Brooks, Kayson Brooks, Wrenley Brooks and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Blackville Church of God with Pastor Barry Peavy, Reverend Gilbert Posey, Reverend Mark Sweat and Sheriff Tommy Corbin officiating.

Miss Johnnie will be laid to rest in the Orianna Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons: Jeffery Rogers, Jeremy Rogers, Jake Brooks, Tyson Brooks, Payton Brooks, Parker Brooks and Eli Manning.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton or friends and family may call at the home of Jason and Jeana Brooks.
