Obituary

Mrs. Johnnie Wynn Ricks, age 95, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Treutlen Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Ricks was born in Dublin GA and had lived most of her life in Soperton. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley Wynn and Mamie Beacham Wynn, her husband, Curtis Ricks, brother, Edgar Wynn, and sister, Evelyn Wynn Smith.   She was a long time employee of Plant Telephone Company, Soperton, where she retired in the late 1970's. She was also the editor of the Soperton News from 1961—1963. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Soperton, and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also a charter member of the American Auxiliary.

Survivors include a daughter, Joy (Eddie) Parramore of Camilla; grandchildren, Leigh (Alan) Lavender of Phoenix City, AL and Michael (Holli) McGahee of Camilla; two great grandchildren, Madison Schwandt of Phoenix City, AL and Hope Davis of Camilla, GA.

Graveside services will be held in Westview Cemetery, Soperton, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, with Reverend Mark Sweat officiating. The family will receive friends at Sammons Funeral Home one hour before services on Wednesday.
