Mr. Johnny Lumpkin, age 70 of Adrian passed away on Monday evening, May 9, 2022 at Memorial Health in Savannah.
Born in Johnson County, he was the one of seven children born to the late Morris and Elnor Atkinson Lumpkin. He had lived in the Norristown Community of Treutlen County for many years before moving to the Blackville Community. Mr. Lumpkin had worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Emanuel County for approximately twenty years before retiring.
He enjoyed fishing and raising goats.
He had attended Blackville Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Fred Lumpkin, Roy Lumpkin, J. L. Lumpkin, Eddie Lumpkin and Betty Ann Morrison, as well as a nephew Charles Lumpkin.
Mr. Lumpkin leaves behind his only surviving sibling, Jimmy Lumpkin (Pat), Adrian, GA, a niece, Patricia L. Beck (Ricky), Adrian, nephews, Wayne Lumpkin (Kat), East Dublin, Jeffrey Lumpkin (Allison), Adrian, James Lumpkin, NC, Ricky Lumpkin, East Dublin, Anthony Lumpkin, Swainsboro, Steven Lumpkin, Swainsboro, Alec Lumpkin, Vidalia and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home.
Mr. Lumpkin will be laid to rest in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Norristown.
His family will receive friends on Friday, at the funeral home, from 2:00 pm until the hour of service.
