Mrs. Joy Tinsley Hatcher, age 71 of Soperton passed away at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation center on Monday evening, May 15, 2023.

A native and lifelong resident of Treutlen County, she was the only child born to the late Wiliam Calvin "W.C." Tinsley and Emma Smith Tinsley. She was a graduate of Treutlen County High School, Class of 1970. She had worked in several textile plants during her working years until retiring from Easter Seals in Soperton. Joy had a love of animals, especially horses, and was quite the equestrian in her younger years. She loved flowers and cooking; but her greatest love was for her Lord and Savior. She spoke freely about her relationship with the Lord and looked forward to spending eternity in his presence.

She had attended Harmony Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Augustus and Bertha Kitchens Smith Sr..

Joy leaves behind, a cousin and caregiver, Bonnie Taylor, Statesboro, GA, several other cousins and a special and loyal friend, Charlene Foskey of Soperton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton.

Friends and family are invited to visit, at the funeral home, on Tuesday, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.

Joy will be laid to rest alongside her family in Westview Cemetery, Soperton.
