Mr. Dwayne "Keith" Carpenter Sr., age 79 of Soperton passed away on Monday afternoon, February 21, 2022 at his home.

Born in Habersham County, Georgia he was the only child born to the late John Clifford Carpenter and Marjorie Chapman Carpenter.  He graduated from Habersham High School in the early 1960s.  In the 1970's he came to Treutlen County and worked with GFF as a Loom Mechanic until the plant's closure in 2013.

Mr. Carpenter enjoyed hunting and reading westerns.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Carpenter leaves behind, his wife of thirty seven years, Janice "Nanny" Carpenter, Soperton, GA, children, Dwayne Carpenter Jr. (Jackie), Soperton, GA, Lynn Carpenter, Soperton, GA, Charles Carpenter Sr. (Wendy), Hampton, GA, Dawn Helton (Scott), Clarkesville, GA, grandchildren, Charles William Carpenter Jr., Brittany McDaniel (Nathan), Taylor Carpenter, Lindsay Carpenter, Derek Gardner and two great grandchildren, Jayce McDaniel and Sheila Grace Brown.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home.
