Mr. Lamar "Pee Wee" Stapleton, age 80 of the Orland Community of Soperton passed away on Sunday morning, February 14, 2021 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Born in Johnson County, he was the last living of six children in the family.  "Pee Wee" grew up in the Rockledge Community and had worked at J.P. Fortsman's Woolen Mill as a fork lift operator for over thirty years; retiring in 1979.

He enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing and NASCAR stock car racing.

He was a former member of Snowhill Church of God and was presently a member at the Soperton Church of God.

"Pee Wee" is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lizzie Barber Stapleton, his wife, Annie Bell Stapleton; who passed away in 2011, his siblings, Talmadge Miller, Hilton Miler, Doyle Stapleton, Grace Miller and Lucien Miller.

He leaves behind, his sons, Steven Stapleton (Tonya), Dublin, GA, Phillip Stapleton (Jamie), Soperton, GA, grandchildren, Chloe Stapleton, Jaicey Stapleton, Coby Stapleton, Carson Richardson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Troy Maddox officiating.

"Pee Wee" will be laid to rest beside his wife in Westview Cemetery.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 -8:00 pm at the funeral home.

His family requests that current CDC COVID spread prevention guidelines be honored.
