Mr. Larry Currie Avery, age 84 of Glenwood passed away on Thursday evening, May 23, 2024 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

Born in Wheeler County, GA, he was the only child born to the late Wynn David "W.D." Avery and Mary Myrtle Currie Avery.  He grew up in Glenwood and was a graduate of Glenwood High School.  After high  school, he completed a correspondence course on Electronics and in 1962 he moved to Macon working in various jobs before opening Larry Avery Television Repair.  He ran Larry Avery TV Repair for over twenty five years before returning to Wheeler County to help take care of his mother.  After coming home he ran Larry Avery Appliance for another twenty years until his health began to decline.

Mr. Avery was a world class tinkerer and piddler and enjoyed welding and working with his plasma cutter.

He has been a lifelong member at Beulah Baptist Church in Glenwood which is on land that his grandfather donated for the church and was built with materials and labor provided by his family.

He leaves behind, his children, Kathy Avery, Macon, GA, Scott Avery (Brandi), Gray, GA, his former wife of thirty one years and the mother of his children, Patricia "Pat" Page Avery, Macon, GA, grandchildren, Kaitlyn Avery Grubb (Keli), Juliette, GA, Zachary Avery, Macon, GA and great grandchildren, Layla Jane Grubb ad Maya Jade Grubb.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Beulah Baptist Church in Glenwood with, his cousin, Pastor W.L. Currie officiating.

Mr. Avery will be laid to rest with his parents in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Jesse Boyd, James Landis, Kelly Landis, Walt Neal, Cecil Barnes and Perry Avery.

Gary Neal will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday, at the church, from 1:00 o'clock p. m. until the hour of service.
