Mr. Leonard Andrews, age 80, of Adrian passed away on Wednesday afternoon, July 12, 2023 at his home, with his family by his side.

Born in Johnson County, he was the eldest of four children born to the late Herbert Leonard Andrews and Mary Sue Rowland Andrews.  He and his siblings grew up primarily in Laurens County where he was a graduate of East Laurens High School.  He served in the United States Army during the late 1960's from where he was honorably discharged.  In the early 1980s he opened and operated Middle Georgia Radiator in East Dublin until in 1988 when he opened and ran Middle Georgia Monument.  Middle Georgia Monument converted to Ethel's Monuments in 1997 which he and his wife continued to operate until they closed and he retired in 2017.    Mr. Andrews has been a resident of Adrian for the past twenty six years.

He enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer.  He was a common face at the Riverview course in Dublin and was a Georgia State Golfing Champion.

Mr. Andrews was a member of the East Dublin Baptist Church and had attended Adrian Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Andrews and Wendell Andrews.

Mr. Andrews leaves behind, his wife of twenty six years, Ethel Hall Andrews, Adrian, GA, children, Leonard "Len" Andrews (Gina), Adrian, GA, Jason Mimbs (Rachel), Adrian, GA, Sharon Powell (Jamie), East Dublin, GA, Jamie Mimbs, Athens, GA, Sharon Wilcher, Athens, GA, his sister, Peggy Mullis (Donnie), East Dublin, GA, sister in laws, Delores Andrews East Dublin, GA, Barbara Andrews, East Dublin, eight grandchildren, Sierra Andrews, Madison Andrews, Trevor Tibitts, Karley Westendorf, Alayna Westendorf, Liam Mimbs, Amanda Messenger, Jessica Pierce, three great grandchildren, Alexander Hodges, Baxley Andrews, Noah Messenger and several nieces  and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 15, 2023 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, Georgia with Reverend Jeff Croft and Reverend Ronnie Powell officiating.

Mr. Andrews will be laid to rest in the Graham Memorial Cemetery, East Dublin, GA.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, at the funeral home, from 11:00 am until the hour of service or family and friends may call at the family home.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Bruce Daniels, Ricky Martin, Matthew Ripperger, Justin Johnson, Ken Ricks and Danton Morris.
