While in Tavares she owned and operated "The Sewing Works", a window covering custom design and drapery work room, where she manufactured for many of the local decorators in Lake County as well as worked her own retail end of the decorating business. She also did pattern making for new developing products applying for patents, as well as interfacing with several of the local architects with interior design concepts during the initial designing process.
