Obituary

Mrs. Lois Foskey Brantley, age 81, beloved wife of the late Howard Donald Brantley, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, February 22, 2022 at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia.

Born in Treutlen County, she was a daughter of John Marvin Foskey and Lizzie Mae Norris Foskey.  She grew up in the Scott and Adrian area.  She attended school in Scott and Treutlen County.  She married Soperton native Howard Donald Brantley in March of 1961 and has since made her home in Treutlen County.  Mrs. Brantley had worked at the Soperton Shirt Factory for a short time before joining the Cafeteria Staff at the Treutlen County Elementary School, where she worked for approximately thirty years until retiring in the late 2000s.  While working in the cafeteria, she quickly became the favorite among the students.  After retiring from the school system she enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her husband.

Mrs. Brantley's life revolved around her family and especially her children and grandchildren.  She was a familiar face at their special events and might have even cheered for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.

In addition to her husband that passed away in 2015, she is preceded in death by a son, Donald Tracey Brantley and siblings, Rufus Foskey, Leodias Evans, Johnnie Merle Glover, Earl Foskey, Edward Foskey, Tommy Foskey and Georgia Mae Wilson.

Mrs. Brantley leaves behind her children: Kenny Brantley, Reidsville, GA; Lois Leverne Milton (Michael), Soperton, GA; Howard Clint Brantley (Misty), Soperton, GA; Jonathan Brantley, Warner Robins, GA; two sisters: Cleo Collins, Tarrytown, GA; Clara Mae Foskey, Soperton, GA; grandchildren: Autumn Anderson (Matthew), Austin Stewart (Courtney), Michaela Holmes (Jarrod), Michael Milton Jr. (Carli), Dylan McDuffie (Taralee), Taylor Brantley, Jenna Brantley, Montana Brantley, Howard Logan Brantley, Rylan Brantley, Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie Mae" Brantley, Nathan Brantley, Katelyn Brantley; a great granddaughter, Vayda Coxwell and numerous nieces and nephews.
