Mrs. Lois Eugenia "Jean" Hambrick McCoy, age 92, beloved wife of the late Foye G. McCoy of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2026 at Piedmont Augusta Hospital.

Born in Augusta, she was one of twelve children born to the late Alfred Lee Hambrick and Florice Ellen Holliman.  She attended school in Richmond County as well as the Augusta Beauty College in the mid 1960s.  Mrs. McCoy had worked at the S & S Cafeteria on Walton Way and the City Golf course in Aiken.  She spent the majority of her life in the Aiken area.

She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and doing yard chores.

Jean had attended Pineview Baptist Church in New Ellenton, SC.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Richard G. "Ricky" McCoy and a daughter, Sandra McCoy Weathersbee.

Jean leaves behind: a son, Dana Wade McCoy, New Ellenton, SC, two brothers, William "Bill" Hambrick, Augusta, GA, Gary Hambrick, Grovetown, GA, a sister, Doris Hambrick Thompson, Augusta, GA, grandchildren, Brittany Hixon (Tyler), Madison McCoy, Brandon McCoy, Jacob McCoy, great grandchildren, Baylee, Reagan, Tate, Rowyn and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from the graveside in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend William Eaves officiating.

Mrs. McCoy will be laid to rest beside her husband.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Brandon McCoy, Jacob McCoy and Tyler Hixon

Her family will receive friends on Thursday, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home.
