Mrs. Lucretia McLendon Shiver, age 52, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017.

Mrs. Shiver was born August 6, 1964, and was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County. She was preceded in death by her father, J. E. McLendon.  She was a graduate of Brewton Parker College, Mount Vernon, and had attended Georgia Southern College, Statesboro. She was a longtime employee of Treutlen Health and Rehab in Soperton.

Survivors include her husband, Warren Shiver; a daughter, Erica (Casey) Woods of Mount Vernon; a son, Derek Shiver of Soperton; her mother, Jeanne McLendon of Brunswick; her sister, Lisa (Chris) Zachry of Brunswick; a brother, Bart (Phaedra) McLendon of Brunswick; a granddaughter, Gracie Woods of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday, May 1, with Reverend Mark Sweat officiating.  Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Soperton.

Pallbearers will be Monny McLendon, Hugh Beasley, Wayne Hooks, Jim Holmes, Don Quick, and Hugh McLendon.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and may be reached at the home of Darrell and Phyllis Stephens, 5023 W. Main Street, Soperton, GA.
