Mrs. Margaret Chastain Owens, age 69, of Alamo died Wednesday, October 12, 2016.

Mrs. Owens was born in Americus and lived most of her life in Cordele and Alamo. She was preceded in death by parents, Bill Melvin Chastain and Lizzie Mae Holmes Chastain, and her husband, Lemmie Edward (L. E.) Owens. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Ann (Keith) Hobbs of Albany; grandchildren, Brad (Lauren) Hobbs and Tristan (Katie) Hobbs, all of Alabama; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Vickie) Chastain, Luther Chastain, and David Chastain, all of Cordele, Randy (Brenda) Chastain of Fitzgerald, and Michael Chastain of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 22, at 11 a.m. at the family residence, 3430 Highway 26, Alamo, GA 30411 with Pastor Kevin Hammons officiating.
