Obituary

Mrs. Marsha Lumley Ware, age 66, of Soperton died Sunday, March 5, 2017.

Mrs. Ware was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and was preceded in death by her father, Joe L. Lumley, Jr.  She was retired after thirty-nine years of service with Treutlen County Board of Education where she had taught first grade and kindergarten for thirteen years before becoming Pre-K and School Nutrition Director.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Soperton, and the Sara Y. Lowery Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband of forty-two years, Richard Ware; daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Chet Sconyers of Soperton; granddaughter, Hattie Claire Sconyers; mother, Glynece Holton Lumley of Soperton; sisters and brothers-in-law, LaJuanna (Bonnie) and Joe Brown of Cordele and Teresa and Donnie Cammack of Soperton;  several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, with Reverend George Grimes officiating.  Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Treutlen County, with Sammons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Josh Cammack, Steven Durham, Patrick Crews, Ted Sconyers, Bill Odom, and Eric McDonald.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and may be reached at the family residence.
