Obituary

Maxine Waters Baker, 75, of Luray, Virginia; died October 3, 2018. She was born in Luray on December 6, 1942, to the late James Ralph and Lena Belle (Dovel) Waters.

She attended Luray Christian Church. She worked for eight years with Virginia Oak Tannery and 38 years for Wrangler as payroll clerk. She enjoyed gardening in her flowerbeds, traveling and attending church. She volunteered at Page One Thrift and Food Pantry. She loved spending time traveling and visiting with friends and family. She especially enjoyed watching Matthew, Drew and Sara play football, baseball, softball and cheer.

On November 14, 1980, she married Cecil Woodrow Baker, Jr., who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Carol Wiatrowski of Soperton, Georgia., and Beth Comer of Luray; Bonnie Shenk of Hurst, Texas; grandsons, Matthew Bradley and Drew Comer and granddaughter, Sara Comer, all of Luray; and Pets, Barney and Rudy.    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty L. Waters.

A Memorial service will be held at Bradley Funeral Home Inc. Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 2:00 P.M.
