Mr. Michael Ray Mathis, age 49 of Soperton passed away at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday morning, December 9, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from the graveside in the Alamo City Cemetery with Reverend Troy Maddox Jr. and Pastor Eschol Lee Ryals, officiating.

His family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Soperton Trinity Assembly of God.

Born in Glenwood, he was the son of Troy Mathis Jr. and Ada Mae Rawlings. He grew up in Alamo where he attended high school and lived until moving to Soperton in 2008.

Michael was a member of the Alamo Church of God.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, who were like parents, Troy and Thedus Mathis Sr.

He leaves behind, his father, Troy Mathis Jr. (Ann), Vidalia, GA, his mother, Ada Mae Rawlings Mathis, Sacramento, CA, siblings, Terry and Tonya Mathis, Soperton, GA, Marianne Mathis, Dublin, GA, William and June Mathis, Montgomery County, GA, Martha Floyd, Alamo, GA, Jean Sunday, Alamo, GA, Eddie and Rhonda Mathis, Alamo, GA, Mark Page, Hartville, TN, a dear friend, Troy Maddox "Pa", Soperton, GA, numerous nieces and nephews as well as his extended Maddox family.
