Michelle Leigh Fowler Adams, age 54 of Adrian passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, August 29, 2024 at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.
Born in Albany, Georgia, she was the second of three children born to the late Rickey Fowler and Judy Hall Fowler Smith. Michelle grew up mostly in Hawkinsville and Cordele, attending school in Bleckley and Crisp counties. Early in her career journey, Michelle worked for Olan Mills Photography as a traveling photographer. She relocated to the Macon area where she later worked as an office manager for Middle Georgia Freightliner and later in client relations at both Red Roof Inn and Holiday Inn. In 2013, she moved to the Soperton/Adrian area to help care for her mother. After settling here, she began working with Clarity Clinical Laboratory as an edits coordinator. She worked up until this past Friday, when her health required medical attention.
Michelle possessed a charismatic personality that drew people to her. She cared about others, she was non-judgmental, reliable, and a coveted friend to many. She was passionate about planning and working her plan. She was happiest when near family and friends, visiting Georgia and North Carolina mountains, and her favorite Hilton Head beaches.
Michelle is preceded in death by her father, Rickey Fowler, who passed away in July of 2022 and her mother, Judy Hall Fowler Smith, who passed away in August of 2017.
She leaves behind: her son, Michael Black (Veronica "Nikki"), Soperton, GA siblings, Donna Latrice Daniels (Todd), Macon, GA, Richard Eanon Fowler (Kristine) of Andrews, NC, Stacey Dorywalski (Tom) of Tampa, FL, Beverly Riddle of Double Springs, AL, Danielle Cooley of Moultrie, GA. Grandchildren, Brooke Elizabeth Fowler, Collin Ricky Black, Gavin Elijah Black. Several nieces and nephews. Special friends, Connie Stephens and Tonya Durden.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm with Byron Smith and Cheryl Wilkes officiating. Afterward, friends and family will be accepted at the home of her son, Michael.
Michelle will be laid to rest in the Midway Cemetery.
