Mrs. Mildred Ann White Palmer, age 89, beloved wife of the late Robert William Palmer of Mt. Vernon passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, with her family by her side, at Memorial Health Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia.
She was the only child born to the late Cleveland White and Mary Elizabeth "Marylizzie" Downs White. She grew up in Treutlen County where she attended the public school system. She was a dedicated homemaker, committed wife and loving mother. She enjoyed creating oil paintings, fishing, growing and tending her flowers and taking care of her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Palmer was a longtime member of the Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class.
In 1955 she married Montgomery County native, Robert William Palmer, to whom she was married for forty nine years. Mr. Palmer passed away in 2004.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving daughters, Cynthia Horne, Soperton, GA, Lydia Adams (Buddy), Mr. Vernon, GA, Jennifer Richardson (Terry), Mt. Vernon, GA, grandchildren, Jessica Clark (Royce), Melissa Dickens (Craig), Adam Horne (Mendy), Will Adams (Elizabeth), Nathan Adams (Abby), Ashley Thornton (Quinton) and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 in the Wiliams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with, her grand daughter, Jessica Clark officiating.
Mrs. Palmer will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Adams Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, GA.
Her family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home.
