Mrs. Minnie Foskey Kersey, age 93 of Adrian passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 8, 2021 at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.
She was born in Treutlen County on March 31, 1928. She graduated from Soperton High School in 1947 and later that same year married Von Lanier Kersey. Von passed away January 1993. Minnie attended Swainsboro Technical College and graduated in Bookkeeping and Typing with a Clerical Degree in 1968. She worked with the Citizens Bank of Swainsboro from where she retired in 1994. After retiring she volunteered at Emanuel County Hospital as a Pink lady at the front desk and enjoyed traveling some with groups such as Excursions and other groups. Minnie was a member of Adrian United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Charge Choir for thirty two years. She served as Treasurer of Adrian Methodist Church for fourteen years, was a member to the Adrian Methodist annual conference several years back and a member of Young at Heart and the Friendship Club.
She leaves behind her two sons, Larry Kersey (Teresa), Lizella, GA, Randy Kersey (Mikki), Perry, GA, three grandchildren, Jill Turner, Harrison, GA, Mitchell Kersey, Macon, GA, Chip Kersey, Warner Robins, GA, four great grandchildren, Taylor Turner, Josh Turner, Connor Kersey, Ruston Pagan, Sean Lewis and Drew Lewis.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Adrian United Methodist Church with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating.
Miss Minnie will be laid to rest beside her husband in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, at the church, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
