Mr. Mitchell Kight, age 69, of Reidsville passed away on Monday morning, March 28, 2022 at Memorial Health in Savannah.

Born in North Carolina, he was one of seven children in the family.  He grew up in Tarrytown and attended school in Treutlen and Toombs Counties.  Mr. Kight worked with family in the Timber business for a short time before launching a long career in the Underground Utility Industry.  He worked for Fiber Optic in Vidalia and Kennedy Cable Construction in Reidsville.  Having been a resident of Reidsville since 2001; in 2006 he started and ran his own business, K & K Utility Construction, Inc. with his wife, Audrey Faye McGahee Kight.  In 2016, he transitioned the business over to his daughter and son in law.

Mr. Kight enjoyed smoking meat, UGA football and old trucks.

In 2016 his wife of forty four years passed away.  He is also preceded in death by, siblings, Virgil, Billy, Dale, Gary and George Kight.

Mr. Kight leaves behind their daughter, Jamie Kight Simmons and her husband, Johnny, Claxton, GA, their twin grand daughters, Jenna and Jordan Simmons, Claxton, GA and his last living sibling, Judy Kight Helms, North Carolina.

Mr. Kight will be laid to rest beside his wife on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 3:00 pm in Tarrytown Cemetery, Tarrytown, GA.

His family will receive friends at the graveside.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Kelvin Kuhl, Pete Revis, Thomas Toler, Bobby Cowart, Matt Moore, Jody Gilreath, David Culberson, Aldrick Hill and Tommy Lanier.
