Muriel Beasley, age 79, formerly of Augusta, Georgia passed away on Monday evening, May 25, 2020 at Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.

Born in Bremerton, Washington, she was the youngest of three children born to the late Lowell Baine and Marian Fitch Archer. She married and settled in Georgia in the late 1960s. She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Gracewood State Hospital in Augusta for many years. Mrs. Beasley had lived in Kite for a number of years before moving to Wrightsville.

"Aunt Took", as she was affectionately known by her family, possessed a loving and caring spirit for emotionally impacted individuals; especially young girls and children with special needs. Since childhood she lived a very disciplined lifestyle and realized early on that "clouds will come"; but God has a purpose for those clouds and that they each held their own silver lining. She was a gentle soul and was quick to talk about and share her love for her Lord and the impact that her faith as had on making her who she was.

Mrs. Beasley had been active for many years in training, sharing and showing therapy dogs. Her happiest times were when she and other volunteers visited schools, hospitals and nursing homes and with the help of their canine friends could bring a smile to a face and uplift a heavy heart.

She had attended the Kite Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Lowell Archer Jr., and her sister, Constance May Johnson; both of Tulsa, OK.

She leaves behind, her nephew, Eric Johnson, Titusville, FL, a great nephew, Grant Johnson, Cyprus, TX, a great niece, Michelle Dorsett, Corpus Christi, TX and great great nieces, Avery Dorsett and Chloe Johnson and her beloved Therapups, Heidi and Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home.

Her family will receive friends following the service, at the funeral home.

Based on the CDC guidelines and recommendations pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of PPE is encouraged and the practice of social distancing is requested.
