Obituary

Mrs. Nell Pollette Garrett, age 95, beloved wife of the late C. B. Garrett Jr., passed away on Sunday morning, March 24, 2019 at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Treutlen County, at her uncle and aunt's house, she was the youngest and last living child born to the late George C. and Lillie Bell Canady Pollette. As a young child her family moved frequently with her father's work as a sharecropper. She attended school in Montgomery and Treutlen County and in 1945 married Treutlen County native, C. B. Garrett Jr. Mrs. Garrett had worked at Soperton Manufacturing as a Machine Operator for eighteen years before retiring. After her husband's passing in 1998 she began working as a Host and Greeter at the Million Pines Welcome Center until 2011.

She had been a longtime and devoted member of Harmony Baptist Church where she attended the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Garrett was especially fond of time spent with her family and time fishing with her husband.

In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Carlton Pollette and her sister Juanita Williamson.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Sherry A. Garrett Williams (Eddie), Mt. Vernon, GA, Carol S. Garrett Collier (Tom), Helena, AL, five grandchildren, Scott Williams (Brenda), Jody Williams (Jennifer), Craig Williams (Amy), Shannon Humphrey (Stacie), Melissa Hadaway (Matt), eight great grandchildren, Shelby Lyles (Josh), Bailee Williams, Caroline Williams, Cooper Williams, Taylor Williams, Abigail Williams, Tristan Bryan, Nicole Maples, two great great grandchildren, John Carter Lyles, Anniston Lyles and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Sweat officiating.

Mrs. Garrett will be laid to rest beside her husband in Westview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Eddie, Scott, Jody, and Craig Williams, Tom Collier, Shannon Humphrey, and Josh Lyles.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 am until the hour of service or friends may call on the family at the home of Eddie and Sherry Williams in Mt. Vernon, GA.
