Patricia A. Meeler, 62, of Guyton, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Candler Hospital, Savannah.
Pat was born in Dublin and raised in Soperton. She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Meeler, and was of the Baptist faith. She was a retired school teacher after 30 years of service, with over 20 years at Port Wentworth Elementary School. She also was employed at Sapp's Wrecker Service, starting out part-time while she was teaching, and later full time. She was a Georgia Southern Alumni.
Survivors include her mother, Helen Meeler Simmons and step-father, Bill Simmons; sister, Denise Lorenz and brother-in-law, Marvin Lorenz; niece, Maci Robinson and husband, Taylor Robinson; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her former students, all of whom she considered her kids.
A visitation will be on Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler, GA.
A Soperton visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 12 noon at Sammons Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Speir officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Soperton.
