Mr. Paul H. Hammon, age 95, of Eatonton died Saturday, July 16, 2016.
Mr. Hammon was born and raised in Stonington, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley Hammon and Grace Thrash Hammon, his wife, Connie McCrimmon Hammon, a granddaughter, Lindsay Nichole Hammon, and seven brothers and sisters.
A US Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Hammon lived most of his life in Atlanta where he was employed with Butler Shoe Company as an I.T. supervisor. Upon retiring in 1986, he and his wife Connie moved to Soperton, where they lived until Connie's death in 2014. While in Soperton Paul was employed with Sammons Funeral Home.
Survivors include three children, Dale (Mike) Strickland of Monroe, Paul L. Hammon of Mobile AL, and Leigh (Rick) Nichols of Eatonton; grandchildren, Robin (Randal) Cauley, Paul Kenneth (Nikki) Hammon, Shane (Robyn) Strickland, Katie (Will) Curlee, Mary Beth (Wade) Hanse, and Kallah Hammon; great-grandchildren, Micheil Hill, Stephen Brock (Jessica) Hill, Evan Hill, Hayden Hammon, Lauren Hammon, Grace Strickland, Lilly Strickland, and Quinn Curlee; a great-granddaughter, Tabitha Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, with Rev. Bill Lee officiating. Burial will be in Fowler Cemetery, Treutlen County.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour before services on Saturday.
