Mrs. Peepsie Palmer McLendon, age 91, beloved wife of the late Hugh Edwin McLendon of East Dublin passed away on Sunday morning, March 8, 2026 at Scott Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scott, Georgia.
Born in Treutlen County, she was the youngest and last living of eight children born to the late George Washington Palmer and Lula Mae Tapley Palmer. After graduating from high school in Treutlen County she married Laurens County native Hugh "Mac" McLendon. She and Mr. McLendon had three children. He passed away in 2011. Mrs. McLendon had worked, in Dublin, at the Shirt Factory, the Pants Factory, Uniroyal Shoe Manufacturing and before retiring in 2005; she worked with Edenfield Sales and Catering.
She enjoyed cooking and sharing her baked goods with others, as well as time spent outside cutting grass and tending to her flowers.
She had been a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in East Dublin.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings.
Miss Peepsie leaves behind; her children, Cathy McNease (Mark), East Dublin, Hugh Warren McLendon (Patsy), East Dublin, GA, Greg McLendon, Crystal River, FL; grandchildren, Shannon Crane (Jeff), Pike Rd., AL, Jennifer Woodard, Chauncey, GA, Kyle McLendon (Janie), Hazlehurst, GA, Alex McLendon, East Dublin, GA; great grandchildren, Jenna Grace Woodard, Chauncey, GA, Jack Crane & Ava Crane, Pike Rd., AL, Bentley McLendon & Brody McLendon, Hazlehurst, GA and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 o'clock noon on Friday, March 13, 2026 from the graveside in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, 335 Bethlehem Church Rd., East Dublin, GA 31027 with Reverend Matt Haywood officiating.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, at the graveside from 11:00 o'clock a.m. until the hour of service.
Her family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Scott Health and Rehabilitation Center and Affinis Hospice for their kindness and care shown during Mrs. McLendon's illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Bethlehem Baptist Church, P. O. Box 13190, East Dublin, GA 31027
