Mr. Ralph G. "Gill" Burgess, age 65, formerly of Soperton passed away on Thursday morning, July 23, 2026 at Precious Care Assisted Living in Vidalia, Georgia.

Born in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Ralph Elvin Burgess and Betty Pearl Gillis Burgess.  A graduate of Treutlen County High School, he was a lifelong resident on Soperton until moving to Vidalia in 2000.  Gill had worked, as a Machine Operator, at Basset Manufacturing.  For the past sixteen years, he has been a resident at Precious Care Assisted Living in Vidalia.

Gill loved NASCAR, the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.

He leaves behind, his caregivers and fellow residents at Precious Care Assisted Living as well as caregiver and guardian, Felecia Dykes, Tarrytown, GA.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from the graveside in Westview Cemetery with Reverend Mark Sweat officiating.

He will be laid to rest beside his mother.
