Obituary

Mrs. Rebecca S. "Becky" Lord, age 64, beloved wife of Randy Mack Lord of Dublin passed away on October 9, 2023 at Memorial Health in Savannah.

Born in Macon, Georgia, she was the only child born to the late Jack Ernest Shelley and Marilyn Rochelle Davidson Shelley.  She grew up in Macon, attended Macon Christian School and was a graduate to Southwest High School and a member of the "Patriot" Class of 1977.  In 1979 she married, Randy Lord and they began a long life of loving each other and serving their Lord and others in need.  As her husband was serving in the U.S. Army as a Medic, he felt called into the ministry and was asked to serve as a Chaplain.  As he received certain assignments, she was allowed to relocate with him and they ministered as a team in locations to include Germany and various bases in Texas.  When stationed in Kenzingen, Germany, Becky served as the Pianist and Mr. Lord as the Associate Pastor at the Kenzingen Baptist Church.  When remaining stateside, she lived in Dublin and worked as a Dental Assistant with Dr. James Garner.  Mrs. Lord and her husband worked as a team, whether as marriage counselors or ministering through their Santa Ministry to Korean orphans and under privileged children.  During her husband's years of ministering, counseling and preaching, she has been his proof reader of each and every message and devotion before being delivered.

Becky enjoyed sewing, reading and music.

She and her husband were members of the First Baptist Church of Dublin, Georgia.

Mrs. Lord leaves behind her husband of forty three years, Randy M. Lord, two daughters, Bethany Smith (Corey), Gresham, OR, Christianna L. Rosario (James), Dublin, GA, her grandchildren that lovingly called her "Grandma Ducky", Freyja Smith, Ashlynn Rosario, Sarah Rosario, Tobias "Toby" Rosario and her best friend, Melodie Rains (Howard), Tucson, AZ.

Her homecoming celebration was held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Dr. Curtis Lysaker of Shady Grove Baptist Church officiating.
