Mr. Richard "Ricky" Charles Shepherd, age 61, formerly of Dublin passed away at his home in Bonaire, GA on Tuesday morning, July 25, 2023.

Born in Laurens County, he was one of five children born to Emaline Wynn Shepherd and the late Thomas Edison Shepherd.  Ricky was a graduate of East Laurens High School, Class of 1980.  He later attended Heart of Georgia Technical College where he studied Business Management.  He had worked for J. P. Stevens, Piggly Wiggly and Pepsi Cola before moving over the Coca Cola from where he retired as a Distribution Manager.  He and his wife had been lifelong residents of Laurens County until moving to Bonaire to be near their grandchildren in 2015.

Ricky was strong in his Christian faith.  He had attended the Dublin Church of God, was a Deacon and had served on the church council.  He most recently had attended The Rain Church in Warner Robins.

He leaves behind his wife of forty one years, Deborah Gay Shepherd, their daughter, Hilarie Shepherd, Dublin, GA, their son, Derreck Shepherd and his wife, Kara of Kathleen, GA, his mother, Emaline Wynn Shepherd, Rockledge, GA, his siblings, Anita Gail Shepherd, Stacey Edward Shepherd, Terry Emory Shepherd, all of Rockledge and Tammy Bayto of Dublin.  He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Addison and Ethan Shepherd and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted ar 10:00 am on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from the graveside in Liberty Grove Cemetery, Wrightsville, GA with Reverend Dwayne Clements officiating.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, at the graveside, from 9:00 am until the hour of service.
