Mr. Ricky Ray Durden, age 55, beloved husband of the late, Sharilyn Sue Durden of East Dublin passed away on Saturday morning, December 9, 2023 at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.

Born in Swainsboro, he was the son and last living child born to the late William Ray Durden and Frances Drake Keene.    Ricky grew up in Norristown and attended school in Adrian.  He worked at GFF for many years and the Vidalia Peanut Company before joining the Road Maintenance Crew with Emanuel County Roads and Highways.

He was an avid fan of dirt track racing and was a constant fixture at the Swainsboro Raceway.

Ricky had attended the Norristown Revival Center.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Penny Sue Lawrence.

He leaves behind a nephew, Chris Lawrence (Tori), Tarrytown, GA, two nieces, Bonnie King (Kevin), Oak Park, GA, Kayla Mclendon (Steven), Augusta, GA and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from the graveside in Keas Church Cemetery with Pastor Jack Stafford officiating.  Ricky will be laid to reside beside his mother.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday, at the graveside, from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service.
