Mr. Robert Henry Conner, age 68 of Mt. Vernon passed away on Wednesday evening, October 19, 2022 at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia.

Born in Orlando, FL, he was the eldest of two sons born to Jessie Mae Taylor Conner and the late Robert Eli "Pat" Conner.  AS a young child the family moved to Mt. Vernon where Robert attended school and was a graduate of Montogomery County High School, Class of 1973.  Robert had a long career within the State of Georgia Corrections System as a Facilities Manager that oversaw the production of products by inmates at the production centers.  He retired in 2010 after thirty five years of service.

Robert was passionate about his grandchildren and his friends.  He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, old western movies and the Georgia Bulldogs.

He is preceded in death by his father, Pat Conner, who passed away in 2020.

Robert leaves behind his wife, Sharon Conner, his mother, Jessie Mae Conner, both of Mt. Vernon, GA, children, Sandi Conner, Normantown, GA, Drew Conner, Long Pond, GA, Derick Conner (Becky), Ailey, GA, Robert Edwards, Mt. Vernon, GA, his brother Mike Conner, Mt. Vernon, GA, grandchildren, Emmalee, Ellabelle, Luke, Eralynn, Owen and his faithful Labrador Retriever companion, Hank.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from the graveside in Mt. Vernon City Cemetery with Reverend Brian Patrick officiating.

Robert's family will receive friends at the graveside on Saturday or friends and family may call at Robert and Sharon's home .
