Mr. Ronnie Lee Foskey Sr., age 67, beloved husband of Wanda Lumley Foskey of Adrian, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, July 13, 2024 at their home.
Born in Warner Robins, he was the eldest of four sons born to the late Lee Roy Foskey and Iris Christine Mimbs Foskey. He grew up in Adrian and was a graduate of Adrian High School, Class of 1974. While at Adrian, he was a standout Basketball Forward.
Mr. Foskey had worked at J. P. Stevens / Forstmann, East Dublin as a Machine Mechanic for over thirty years; until the plant's closure. After Forstmann, he joined YKK as a Steam Press Operator building storm windows, until retiring in March of 2024. A lover of sports, he played and coached softball in the Industrial League and while coaching was unbeaten for six consecutive years.
All that knew him, knew of his love for the Georgia Bulldogs. He had been a season ticket holder for thirty eight years and was known to go to any length or miles to attend and support his team.
An avid out doors man; he enjoyed hunting and fishing (if Georgia wasn't playing).
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Donald Foskey, who passed away as a young toddler.
Mr. Foskey leaves behind his wife of forty five years, Wanda Lumley Foskey, Adrian, GA, their sons, Lee Foskey (Rachel), Cochran, GA, Kyle Foskey (Stephanie), Soperton, GA, two brothers, Ronald Foskey (David Barfield), Donalsonville, GA, Kenneth Foskey, Adrian, GA, grandchildren, Brock, Caleb, Hayden, Lola Jo, Amelia, Beau, Raven and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor James Scott officiating.
Mr. Foskey will be laid to rest in the Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Charles Blackburn, Charles Plummer, Roger Foskey, Ken Warnock. Travis Hunt, Jason Claxton, Jason Cobb, Hugh Foskey and Ronald Dean Foskey.
His family will receive friends on Saturday at Sammons Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until the hour of service or friends and family may call at the family residence.
