Mrs. Ednah Rosalie Ashley Kicklighter, age 87, beloved wife of the late Luthur P. Kicklighter passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 13, 2026 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Born in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, she was the eldest and last living of four daughters born to the late Edward Garner Ashley and Katye Lillian White Ashley.  She was a graduate of Vero Beach High School, Class of 1957.  During high school, she met Treutlen County native Luthur Kicklighter, who was attending Vero High School and living in Florida with his father's work.  After graduation, the high school sweethearts were married and Mr. Kicklighter enlisted in the United States Navy.  After traveling around the world with his military assignments for ten years, Mr. Kicklighter retired from the military and they settled in St. Cloud, Florida.  They had two daughters, Cindy and Sandy.  As the girls grew up and became involved in school activities; Mrs. Kicklighter, an accomplished Seamstress, she made the uniforms and flags for the flag Corp for the high school band. and even took on making draperies and dining linens for a local hotel. She and her husband retired in their fifties and enjoyed their passion for travel.  They not only traveled for their own adventure and pleasure but also offered grandchildren the opportunity to visit any destination of their choosing.  During their motorhome adventures, they made several treks to Alaska, California and too many other destinations to list; except for the one grand daughter that chose Hawaii as her dream destination.  She was a great trip planner, family historian, hostess and loved her family.  She loved bacon and always won at Rummy.

She and her husband were blessed with a wonderful life of wanderlust, adventure and making life lasting memories.

Mr. Kicklighter passed away in 2020.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kicklighter is preceded in death by her three sisters, Kitty, Becky and Bunny.

She leaves behind: her daughters: Cindy Kicklighter (Brenda), Mt. Dora, FL, Sandy Kicklighter Lyons (Mark), Belville, NC; grandchildren, Dawn, Herbie, Kemp (Megan), Kati (Billy) and Krystal (Jack); great grandchildren, Brendan, Tristen, Weston, Austa, Magnus, Cyrus, Vivienne and several nieces and nephews.

A small private family service will be held in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, Soperton, Georgia, as Mrs. Kicklighter is laid to rest beside her husband.
