Roy Eugene Conner, 84, of Ware Shoals, South Carolina, beloved husband of Patricia Chambers Conner, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at their home.
Born in Vidalia, Georgia, he was one of ten children born to the late William James Conner and Hattie Bridges Conner. Roy was a former Meat Supervisor at Winn Dixie, where he dedicated 26 years of his life to serving the community. Outside of his professional life, Roy cherished his time spent with family and found great joy in outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting. He was also an avid reader, always eager to learn and share stories. A faithful member of the Church of Christ, Roy lived his life grounded in faith and his family. He was a devoted husband to Patricia, with whom he shared 64 loving years of marriage.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Tim Conner, Clifford Conner, Glenn Conner, Billy Conner and Michael Conner.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Pat Conner, are his sons, Greg Conner (Tammi) and Tyler Conner (Tanya); siblings, Wayne Conner, Hugh Conner, Betty Dukes and Gayle Harrison; grandchildren, Erin Bohanna (Travis), Brenna Conner, Katie Conner, Maegan Press (Erik), Kimberly Crouch (Martin), Mekenzie Johns (Colten) and Ethan Conner (Dylan); great grandchildren, Dax, Evie, Charlotte, Brooks, Brady and Raelynn; and two great granbabies on the way.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 o'clock am on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, 4201 West Main Street, Soperton, Georgia, 30457 with David Dailey, minister, officiating. .
Burial will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Greg Conner, Tyler Conner, Ethan Conner, Martin Crouch, Erik Press and Colton Johns.
His family will receive friends, on Saturday, at the funeral home.
